Description
Penstrep-400 LA – is a combined antibacterial drug with a broad spectrum of action.

Penicillin G procaine and benzathine salts It has a bactericidal effect mainly against gram-positive bacteria: Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Listeria spp., Staphylococcus spp. (non-penicillinase producing), Streptococcus spp.

Dihydrostreptomycin – belongs to the aminoglycoside group and is mainly effective against gram-negative bacteria: E. coli, Campylobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp.
Thus, these components complement each other and in some cases enhance the effect.

Penstrep-400 LA It is used in cattle (including calves), sheep, goats and pigs in the following cases:

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins, procaine, or aminoglycosides

Severe renal failure
-
Should not be used concurrently with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides, and lincosamides
Side effects

The use of procaine penicillin G in pigs can cause abortion

Toxic effects on the ear, nervous system, and kidneys are possible.

Intramuscular (IM).

Usual dose: 1 ml / 10 kg body weight, every 72 hours
