Dimoxan WS
Composition and Analysis
Amoxicillin 20% & Colistin Water Soluble Powder
Ingredients (in 1 gram of powder):
-
Amoxicillin trihydrate – 200 mg
-
Colistin sulfate – 1,200,000 IU
Description:
Amoxicillin and colistin act synergistically. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum, semi-synthetic penicillin that is bactericidal against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is excreted primarily in the urine, with a small amount in the bile.
Colistin is an antibiotic belonging to the polymyxin group, mainly effective against Gram-negative bacteria. Since it is absorbed very little after oral administration, it is mainly used for gastrointestinal infections.
