Chlortetracycline 20% Water Soluble Powder

Ingredients (in 1 gram of powder):

  • Chlortetracycline hydrochloride – 200 mg

Description:
Chlortetracycline belongs to the group of tetracyclines and has a bacteriostatic effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This effect is due to the inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis. It is excreted mainly in the urine, with a small amount in bile and milk.

Usage Instructions:
For gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by bacteria sensitive to chlortetracycline:
In calves, pigs and poultry

Prohibitions:

  • Sensitivity to tetracyclines

  • Severe kidney or liver failure

  • Concomitant administration of penicillin, cephalosporin, quinolone and cycloserine

  • In animals with active microbial digestive systems

Side Effects:

  • Tooth discoloration in young animals

  • Hypersensitivity reactions

Dosage:

  • Calves: 12.5 – 25 grams / 100 kg body weight, 3-5 days

  • Pig: 10 – 25 grams / 100 kg body weight, 3-5 days

  • Poultry: 12.5 – 25 grams / 100 kg body weight, 3-5 days

(Note: For non-ruminant puppies only)

Waiting Periods:

  • For meat:
    Calf – 24 days
    Pig – 4 days
    Bird – 6 days

  • For eggs: 5 days

Packaging:
30 gram and 100 gram packages, 500 gram and 1000 gram jars.
