Ingredients

In each 1 ml of solution:

  • Closantel (as sodium dihydrate) – 50 mg


Description

Closantel is a synthetic antiparasitic drug. Liver fluke, blood-sucking nematodes, and larval stages of some arthropods has a high impact on.

  • Mechanism: blocks mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, halts ATP synthesis, disrupts the energy metabolism of the parasite, and ultimately causes it to die.


Instructions for use

In large animals and sheep:

  • Liver and intestinal parasites: Fasciola hepatica, Fasciola gigantica, Haemonchus contortus, Haemonchus placei, Bunostomum phlebotomum, Oesophagostomum radiatum, Strongyloides papillosus

  • In large horned animals: Hypoderma bovis

  • In sheep: Paramphistomum spp., Chabertia ovina, Oestrus ovis


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to Closantel

  • Not for intravenous or intramuscular injection.

  • Not for use in lactating cows and sheep, in the last trimester of pregnancy and within one year of first calving.


Side effects

  • Hyperacute anaphylactic reaction in large animals

  • Allergic reactions

  • Overdose: blurred vision or blindness, loss of appetite, coordination disorders, weakness


Dosage and administration method

Subcutaneously applied:

  • Large cattle <200 kg and sheep: 1 ml / 10 kg live weight

  • Large horned animal 200–400 kg: 20 ml

  • Large cattle >400 kg: 20 ml + 5 ml for each additional 100 kg

  • Maximum 20 ml per injection site


Withdrawal time

  • For meat: 77 days
