Piperazine 100% water soluble powder
Ingredients:
Piperazine citrate — 1000 mg (per gram).
Description:
Piperazine is an anthelmintic that is active against nematodes. It causes reversible flaccid paralysis in nematode parasites. This occurs by hyperpolarization of the cell membrane and suppression of spontaneous impulses. The paralyzed nematodes are then expelled from the intestine by normal peristaltic movements.
Areas of use:
It is used in the treatment of nematode infections:

Horses: Strongylosis spp., Oxyurosis spp., Trichonema spp., Ascaris spp.

Cattle: Ascaris spp., Nematodirus spp., Ostertagia spp., Cooperia spp., Oesophagostomum spp.

Pigs: Oesophagostomum spp., Ascaris spp.

Birds: Ascaris spp., Capillaria spp.
Prohibitions:

Hypersensitivity to piperazine.

Use in animals with severe kidney or liver disease is prohibited.
Side effects:
When higher than normal doses are used, the following conditions may be observed:

Colic, coughing, excessive salivation, agitation, rapid breathing (hyperpnea), tearing, spasms, sweating, and vomiting.
Dosage and method of administration:
It is given orally.

Horses, cattle and pigs: 1-2 grams per 10 kg of body weight through drinking water.

Birds: 1 kilogram per 1000 liters of drinking water for 2 days.

For meat: 2 days.

For eggs: 2 days.
