Composition and Analysis

Amoxicillin 20% water soluble powder

Ingredients:

  • In 1 gram of powder: Amoxicillin trihydrate 200 mg

Description:
Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin that is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It blocks bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is excreted mainly in the urine, with some in the bile.

Area of use:
Infections: gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections.
Bacteria affected: Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E. coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, penicillinase negative Staphylococcus and Streptococcus.

Suitable for: puppies, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens.

Prohibitions:

  • Should not be used in animals allergic to amoxicillin.

  • It is not used in those with severe kidney disease.

  • It should not be used in combination with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides, and lincosamides.

  • Use in animals with active digestive tracts of microbes is prohibited.

Side effects:

  • Allergic reactions are possible.

Dosage:

  • Puppies, sheep, goats: 5 grams of medication per 100 kg of body weight, 2 times a day, 3-5 days.

  • Pigs and chickens: For drinking water, 1 kg of the drug is mixed with 1000-2000 liters of water and given for 3-5 days.

Withdrawal time:

  • For meat:

    • Puppies, sheep, goats, pigs: 8 days

    • Chickens: 3 days

  • Due to its effect on eggs, it is not used in egg-producing hens.
